Poertena[edit]

Chapter 6, the first appearance of the 'pocking' engineer Poertena. http://baencd.thefifthimperium.com/09-AtAllCostsCD/AtAllCostsCD/March%20Upcountry/067131985X___6.htm

IIRC, there's some instances in the books where his name is Portenta or Poertenta. Shouldn't the first instance of a character name be considered the canonical spelling? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bizzybody (talkcontribs) 08:53, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Page Content[edit]

I've taken it upon myself to remove links to now-deleted pages to get rid of the annoying redlinks. I think that this page probably needs serious editorial work - probably to cut down on that amount of plot and character detail. Also to add information on the publishing history, and perhaps on what seem to be a number of classical references (the name of the planet is Marduk, the name of the book is a reference to Anabasis, the plot seems to be taken from same). But as I haven't actually read the book I don't think I'm really capable of doing this. 99.133.147.93 (talk) 23:32, 24 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Anabasis?[edit]

Should there not be a mention of Xenophon and the Anabasis? jdege (talk) 02:44, 5 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
