Brozak: Good Guy or Bad Guy?[edit]

Several members of the Marching Salukis feel that George Brozak has destroyed what was left of the Marching Salukis. Some have even called him a terrorist of the SIU School of Music. Others believe he is an excellent instructor. Most band members believe his days are numbered and he should pack his bags. Many members of the band feel that Brozak has taken the spontaneity out of the band. We feel that he is trying to make us into a corp style band, even though we are historically a scatter band. The removal of sunglasses, the banishment of beards, the simplistic, geometric drill, the AWFUL pop songs, the terrible arrangements of said pop songs-- some of us feel like he is attacking our band. Frankly, many of us would quit if we weren't such a close family. Thank goodness we still have each other. School's out[edit]

Unsourced allegations about director resigning[edit]

Until/unless it appears in a reliable source such as a newspaper, the alleged resignation of the director should not be mentioned. Facebook is not reliable (nor was the information publicly available in his profile). George Brozak hired?[edit]

Picture of Uniform Example[edit]

The photo of Anthony Gilberti in uniform should not be considered accurate because different members, such as the drum majors and flag team do NOT wear uniforms as provided in the example. Furthermore, he is not wearing the complete uniform as prescribed by SIUC School of Music, so the photograph does not provide an accurate depiction of the Marching Saluki uniform. While I was indeed wearing the complete uniform in that example, I will agree with you that it was a rather poor example and needed to be replaced. The background was too busy, the full uniform could not be viewed, and recent changes to Marching Saluki policy mean that my facial hair would have prevented me from participating. That example has since been removed and five new examples for the Drum Major, Wind Players, Sousaphone Players, Drum Line, and Silks have been added. Images[edit]

How can we get more images of the band on Wikipedia? Navigating their copyright policy is very difficult, and I for one can't figure out how to put images onto the page in the first place! Can anyone help our page?50.40.203.75 (talk) 04:46, 2 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you're a member of the band or otherwise affiliated, take pictures yourself. (Or if you aren't a member, still take pictures—unless there's a stadium rule against taking pictures during a game.) Any picture you take, you're free to license under Creative Commons or a similar free license.
