Name[edit]

"Chilver, who went by her middle name of Christine " says the Telegraph article. Christine Chilver, the original name for the article, would therefore seem to be the best place for it. All the best: Rich Farmbrough, 13:44, 9 October 2014 (UTC).

And the BBC says "The agent, real name Marie Chilver"[1], so why not simply take her full name? Anyway, the "original" name of the article was "Marie Chilver", not "Christine Chilver", so that part of your statement is clearly incorrect. It seems more logical that she went by Marie Chilver in "real" life, and by her middle name "Christine" when acting as "Christine Collard", but that's guesswork to explain the discrepancy between the BBC and the Telegraph. Until we have more information, using her full name seems to be the safest (and is the name used in e.g. the Independent article[2]. Fram (talk) 14:08, 9 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It may seem more logical, but it's not fact. Both the explicit statement by the Telegraph, the usage in the NA articles, the usage in Latvia and the comments by people who knew her, make it clear she went by Christine. Moreover it is standard practice in covert matters to keep, where possible, one's usual name, as one has to respond to it naturally. I have therefore moved the article per COMMONNAME. And I reverted, per the reasons above. Please, when you know that a move is contested, use WP:RM instead of making it regardless. The usage in Latvia is not relevant for the English Wikipedia though, it is the common name in English language sources that matters here. Fram (talk) 10:15, 26 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
