Notability[edit]

The music notability guidelines assume that the awards, and events will garner sources. This subject fails that. Despite having won minor Dove awards, etc. That is why the subject's notability is in question. Walter Görlitz (talk) 05:41, 11 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

That is an interpretation of WP:MUSIC's function with which I disagree, and which I believe is a minority position. If WP:MUSIC were just a proxy for the GNG, it would not need any more bullet points than the first one; in essence, it would not need to exist. In any case, his having won a Dove award is verifiable, which is the crucial policy hurdle, and he has actually had more activity on the Billboard charts than even this article currently states; see [1]. I should probably get around to adding a table for this stuff soon... Chubbles (talk) 17:06, 11 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry you disagree. This is not the place to discuss it though. The Dove Award is in a minor category. If he had won Male Artist of the Year, or Album of the Year, it would have been a major category. Please add the table and that will verify that there is notability. Thanks. And you might want to check out http://www.billboard.com/artist/309535/mark-harris/chart?f=324 instead of using AllMusic everywhere. It missed at least one peak position. Walter Görlitz (talk) 00:31, 12 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Good catch, thanks Chubbles (talk) 01:13, 12 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
