Untitled[edit]

Now that this person meets notability requirements (I believe), which he did not a year ago, I want to 'Be Bold', get rid of the redirect to his father, and start creating at least a minimal article; however, I want to wait for more feedback or action first. Please, comments are what will persuade/dissuade me from starting this. ---Debollweevil (talk) 22:00, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Beginning the article[edit]

Alright, it seems that any discussion on this topic has stalled, so I'm going to Be Bold and create the page. Any help on this project is appreciated. ---Debollweevil (talk) 15:38, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I would help, but this is not an area I am knowledgeable about. If I get a chance next week, I'll look up some stuff, but you've made a good start -- PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 15:56, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure who keeps changing the article back, but the section I added was well referenced, relevant, and true. If there is a part of it that you do not like then we can discuss it, but to delete a well-reference, true section just because you do not like it is against the policies here. - Phishininau, 20:58, 25 October 2009 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Phishininau (talkcontribs) PhishinAU, the section you keep adding has very little to do with Ingram and appears to be an attempt to create controversy as he is a Heisman Trophy candidate. The size of your entry and its prominence is way out of proportion for a short bio like this, and your name suggests a personal agenda here. Your entry biases this article - it is clearly out of balance. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.73.14.217 (talk) 17:17, 10 November 2009 (UTC) Phishin, the section you added is clearly NOT relevant. It's a rather minor point whose inclusion as an entire section of a short bio is way out of proper proportion.[reply]

Heisman chart?[edit]

It's a poll for the fans' choice candidate that will constitute one vote in the Heisman race... I think it's not really relevant as these people have no real say in who ultimately wins the award, and gives the impression that there is a leader beyond speculation. I just edited the graphic for now until someone else hopefully notices this. Debollweevil (talk) 15:33, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That last paragraph about the Auburn games smells like a Longhorn got onto the page. Or Colt McCoy's granny. McCoy hasn't won the award yet and that jab about the UA program has no bearing on Igram's individual accomplishments and should be removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Marc.adrian.scott (talkcontribs) 02:45, 6 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

For future reference, there is no need to speculate about the intentions of your fellow editors(unless they have a prior history with WP:VANDAL and you can note that with a reference). You did the proper thing by pointing it out, though. You can discuss an edit semi-protect if you feel that may help improve the article.Guiltlessgecko (talk) 14:18, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Birthdate[edit]

Ingrams's Birthday is actually 12/21/1989, NOT 11/4/90 as is currently stated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Steve048514 (talkcontribs) 16:57, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's actually in the article that it is in 1988, but I don't know who added that part. I couldn't find his birth date or degree online when I created this article. If you could provide a source to add, it would be greatly appreciated. Debollweevil (talk) 01:32, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I know that while watching a game a few weeks back, they announced it would be his birthday a few days following. There is no way it is the 21st, then, as the 21st hasn't occurred yet. Debollweevil (talk) 01:35, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Upon further research, it seems likely that he was born on Nov. 4, but the year given ranges from 1988 to 1990, and none of the sources are reliable. If anyone finds an attributable source for this, please post it and work it back into the article. As I stated above, his birthday was announced on a televised game, which I'm sure where this Nov. 4 date comes from... We just need something concrete here. Debollweevil (talk) 01:53, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Underbelly 50, please provide with a source before putting the birth date back. I searched for a long time for his birth date and am not convinced it is obvious as you say. The reason I took it off is because it has been completely futile to actually verify his birth date. If we can find any reliable source, I would love it more than you can imagine. Reggie Bush Heisman Trophy[edit]

The article incorrectly asserts that Reggie Bush was stripped of the Heisman Trophy, when in fact he returned it voluntarily, and the Heisman Trust has never made a final decision as to his status. I'm removing that assertion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.171.115.175 (talk) 04:36, 29 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Draft position[edit]

Mark ingram was not the highest pick of a RB since 1970 because C.J. Spiller of Clemson was picked 9th overall in 2010.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.208.65.50 (talkcontribs) 19:39, 3 September 2012‎

  • This comment misinterpreted the content in question, which said (correctly) that the pick used for Ingram was lower (i.e. later in the draft) than any pick used for the first running back in any draft since the merger. I restored, clarified, and added a direct source for this statement. --Arxiloxos (talk) 01:27, 4 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
