Where is the case for notability under WP:PROF? Billlion 18:43, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have tagged it as I don't see a case for notability made. Needs to be supported by third party references in my opinion. Billlion (talk) 18:23, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Usrer:MasculineMajor. You say "(references: MIT, Northwestern, math geneology." , "Corrections to establish true biography. All is available via MIT, Northwestern, Google Scholar.". I dont doubt it. But the fact tags are there to remind us to put the references in. have a look at some other math bio articles and you will see how to do a math genealogy tag. Its no good effectively saying "look khim up in Google Scholar" you need to cite references that you have looked up in google, and use the ref tag to cite them in support of specific claims. Have a good look at WP:PROF. In my opinion, although I know nothing about his work, Pinsky seems likely to meet this criterion. But we have to be quite strict about it as there are plenty of academics who do not and they and their students want to talk them up. So we have to provide evidence of notability. We also have to be careful about biographies of living people. The facts have to be checked carefully. I hope you will be able to help improve this article.Billlion (talk) 07:22, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
