Debian developer?

This is the first I've heard of Mark Shuttleworth being a Debian developer. In fact, Debian's own website doesn't list him: http://www.debian.org/devel/people — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.160.6.253 (talkcontribs) 20:29, 15 July 2005

He no longer is, which is why he doesn't show up on that list, but he was in the early 1990s, as the article says. --Joy [shallot] 22:28, 15 July 2005 (UTC)
I read that he was the first (?) Debian developer for Apache around 96. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 99.245.173.200 (talk) 20:50, 22 April 2007 (UTC).
His old debian.org account testifies to this, and I've added that to the article, but sadly it can't be a simple direct link because the form requires POST, not GET. A list message from 1999 shows that even then his account was considered old and obsolete. But, curiously enough, not even Google can find him in any of the package changelogs at http://packages.debian.org. This could be because he either never made packaging contributions, or his changelog entries were before there were changelogs (I heard once that there was such a time :), or they were in the old dpkg-parsechangelog format so they got axed over time (I've also heard of this happening at least once), or perhaps they were in packages that were removed from the archives long ago, predating the packages.debian.org collection. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 16:30, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
Ah, there's a first-hand writeup at the Debian Wiki. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 16:33, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
Yeah all this amounts to a smidge, a dabble, "a bit", trying one's hand at programming. Came here to find out if this guy was ever a programmer or was an "entrepreneur" from the jump. The latter is apparently more or less the case. 198.255.198.157 (talk) 22:44, 25 April 2014 (UTC)

Archiving error

I don't know what's causing the archive box on this talk page to show a bunch of irrelevant redirects instead of the actual archives. I reported the problem but didn't receive an answer. As of this writing, the actual archives for this talk page can be found here: Talk:Mark Shuttleworth/Archives/2011 and Talk:Mark Shuttleworth/Archives/2012. --BDD (talk) 21:17, 17 May 2015 (UTC)
