Rewrote article and added history section and references; more work needed[edit]

I have re-written the article and have added a history section and references. More needs to be added to the history section, but I'm too bushed right now to continue. Sources to be added include Statues of Canada on The Scarborough and Markham Plank-road Company and Scarborough Community Names from the Scarborough Historical Society, which has a few details about early communities on the route and their development vis-à-vis the road.--papageno (talk) 08:20, 11 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'll merge it into Ontario Highway 48, since Markham Road and it are basically the same. No need for two articles on one road. - ʄɭoʏɗiaɲ τ ¢ 13:38, 11 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I think that makes sense. I presume you wish to merge the York Regional Road 68 article into the Ontario Highway 48 article as well? Might I suggest we place the {{Merge to}} template on both this article and at the York Regional Road 68 article, instead of the {{Proposed deletion}} template on this page, as well as the {{Merge from}} template at the destination Ontario Highway 48 article? This is what is being proposed, and following the merger steps (see Help:Merging; apologies if this is old hat to you, as I suspect it may be) gives a better indication of what has happened to the source article.--papageno (talk) 17:00, 11 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
This is true, and yes that is my intention. I haven't done much in the way of merging, and my experience has always been with Ontario roads to just be bold; nobody else has maintained them, so I'm stepping up and bringing the mop through. I'll add the templates and remove the prod. - ʄɭoʏɗiaɲ τ ¢ 19:00, 11 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
