Raise Importance?[edit]

This novel was the first to expound upon the idea of a Technological Singularity as both a solution to the Fermi Paradox and as a valid positive conclusion to the alleged problems predicted by Malthusians in the coming century. It is considered a seminal work in the transhumanist movement. --75.67.80.68 (talk) 09:36, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why 'Overly Long'?[edit]

Why is there a "plot summary overly long" tag? While it's not short, it contains no spoilers and neatly lays out the double-locked-room aspect of the mystery. An SF novel of this depth may require longer synopses than non-SF novels since much of the comprehensibility of the plot relies on concepts that require explaining. It may be desirable to shunt the parts of the summary that deal with technology into a separate section but, otherwise, is the summary really too long? rewinn (talk) 20:31, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • I agree, and removed the tag. The editor who put it there doesn't even have a talk page, and seems to have been adding that tag to many other pages. Maybe he'll come back and discuss it? DavidHobby (talk) 02:06, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
