It seems plausible that some of the material from this article was based on the following document that I found on-line, authored by Jon W. Jacobsmeyer, with the title "The Marquardt Story": http://www.jacobsmeyer.com/Marquardt/Table%20of%20Contents.htm . There is no date on the story. What it says, and what's reported in the article on Marquardt in Wikipedia, is consistent with what my father recalls from the late 1940's and early 1950's. He worked for Marquardt (and with Roy Marquardt) for 18 months in 1949-1950 both at the Venice facility and the Van Nuys facility.Mack2 03:56, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This article needs to be coordinated with the one on International Signal and Control. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.231.107.107 (talk) 22:50, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Van Nuys[edit]

In the 90s, interviewed for the position of Director of Engineering at the Van Nuys facility. Just touring the place, was worth the trip. There were these huge static test fixtures all over the place to test their ramjets, all hooked up to strip chart recorders, etc. - basically the place was a museum of 50s technology. They had no idea what to do - fortunately, I had a disagreeable interview with their chief structural engineer, presumably he was hoping to get the job himself, so I didn't have to figure it out for them. They eventually decided to make aerospace fasteners which ran them into the ground. I would have tried to keep them in propulsion (as that was my area), but guess we'll never know if this article would have had a happier ending if they'd followed that plan instead. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.129.224.141 (talk) 04:41, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
