Not sure about the classification of Dunsford as a Dissenter - except perhaps in a broad political term, as a churchwarden he was hardly a dissenter in the religious context. He was certainly an early radical, and as you say was described by the Town Clerk Beavis Wood as a 'Jacobin' and a 'Crab' (Seems to be his term for any 'lefty' or radical) but dissenter has quite a specific meaning, and there were indeed many dissenters in Tiverton historically and is still a strong 'non-conformist' tradition.
