badly written article, some seems to be deleted[edit]

this makes no sense. "According to historian Eric Rise, racism in the trial of the Martinsville Seven than in other "legal lynchings" in the South"

can the author (or a knowledgable editor) please fix this, the article should be readable — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.220.151.59 (talk) 16:24, 30 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Real problems in article[edit]

I came upon this article to link it to a new but skeletal article on Martin A. Martin, who was involved in the appeal. Since this was a 2012 DYK article, I was disturbed by its relying upon a journal article and PhD dissertation (mostly without page cites), although Eric Rise wrote a full book about the case in 1995. Also, even quickly going through the book's chronology, this article missed or misrepresented lots -- and I simply don't have the time to fix it. Lots of passive constructions add to its problems, rather than hide them IMHO.Jweaver28 (talk) 23:12, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
