Really?[edit]

In his recollection of the events, Dr. Caruthers fails to mention the milestones accomplishments by the DNA Chemistry group at Genentech in 1977 ( Rapid Synthesis of oligonucleotides) , 1978 (Chemical synthesis of Somatostatin and Chemical synthesis of Human Insulin A and B genes by the triester phosporamidate method )the very first successful experiments in developing the synthetic DNA as useful for the manufacturing of recombinant protein therapeutics. He also forgot that he visited with GNE and the DNA chemistry group to learn about the new breakthrough. The idea of using phosporamidite as activating agent did not hit him or (Marc Mattucci) as a "miracle" on his way back to Colorado!
