The Metaphor (SPOILER)[edit]

To me, all the characters are not people of a planet, but rather the entities of a planetary system; Masaka, the Sun; Korgano, a prinicipal moon of the planet whose inhabitants built the array. Every "person" is a planet, a comet, a fragment of a system that went nova. The survivors of the catastrophe built a record of the system from the point of view of the system's entities, rather than the survivors' view.

That's my take on it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.234.213.66 (talk) 16:49, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The first rogue planet was not discovered until 2012[edit]

This may be true, but the concept was discussed long before TNG came along. Isaac Asimov mentions their theoretical existence in his 1979 book A Choice of Catastrophes. Sophie means wisdom (talk) 17:32, 29 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
