Apparently not still an active proposal[edit]

I can't find any mentions after the initial 312013 article. Moving to defunct museum proposals. It is is still an active proposal, any editor can simply update with sources.E.M.Gregory (talk) 01:32, 30 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion tag[edit]

Jax 0677, I removed the proposed deletion tag after working on the article. Once I squared away that the proposed location in Beford was scrapped, it seems that there are key figures, including MIT and the Massachusetts Aviation Historical Society, involved in setting up this museum. I think the article give a good sense now of its importance. If you think more is needed, I would be happy to help.–CaroleHenson (talk) 09:54, 18 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Recent edit[edit]

I reverted the recent edit here because the edit:

  • Appears to have been made by someone with a conflict of interest
  • Based upon the username, it appears to be the director of the museum
  • The reason for the edit was: "Someone changed what was approved by the Public Relations committee of the Board of Directors of the museum. I have reverted back to the agreed upon description and made minor modifications to reflect the current state of operation."
  • The edit had involved removal of cited content

Wikipedia articles are not updated based upon the direction of the subject of the article. MASM-Director, In response to your comment on my talk page here.
How to resolve a situation where there are limited sources, but you are saying that the cited information is incorrect:
  • You can submit a {{request edit}} to delete the inaccurate information.
  • There isn't a way to add content that isn't properly cited.
I am beginning to wonder if it is appropriate to have this artice if there aren't sufficient accurate sources for the article, because that seems to indicate that the organization is not notable.–CaroleHenson (talk) 16:52, 5 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

From newspapers.com: There are eleven articles published in the Boston Globe from January 25, 2007 to October 3, 2021, but they are in the Publisher Extra section. I don't have a subscription to that section. Since two newspaper articles have been provided, I will stop looking for sources. There wasn't anything that was usable from google books (one was a self-published book, the other was a published book, but just has CV info about a member of the adivsory committee.)–CaroleHenson (talk) 17:56, 5 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Audit[edit]

MASM-Director, You are saying almost all the information in the article is incorrect, but when I compare the information to what is on the https://www.massairspace.org/ site:

  • The museum is located in Hyannis, Massachusetts as of the spring of 2022.
  • It explores the "history of aviation and space exploration, focusing on ties to Massachusetts people and industry."
  • Museum's inception began in 2007, becoming a nonprofit tax-exempt organization, per https://www.massairspace.org/who-we-are/
  • Per the same link, funding came from private and corporate donations, including contributions from the founding members dollars.
  • Per the same link, there is an advisory committee. There is also a board of directors that manages the museum's activities.

What appears to be the delta is:

  • Information about a prior site, including mention of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) hangar
  • The rest of that paragraph

Considering that this is an encyclopedia artice, accurate and tepid seems like a good place to be (vs. WP:Promotion, WP:PEACOCK). If you want more encyclopedic content, though, please submit a {{request edit}}.–CaroleHenson (talk) 17:53, 5 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
