Wife's name[edit]

This phrase, "McCoy married Mary McCoy", is grammatically incorrect, unless Mary's surname was McCoy before marriage. He would have married the woman who's name was to become Mary McCoy. If that is the case, correct grammar would include options such as "McCoy married his wife Mary (nee McCoy, no relation) in 1985... ". You might be better off completely reconstructing that sentence in other ways to get past the problem of clearing that up, and also avoiding the current, clumsy result of "McCoy married Mary McCoy"...
