where did he work

His IMDB biography states that he worked as a bouncer at a bar in his hometown of West Chester, Pennsylvania. - User:Flummery 16:54, 3 March 2006

The bar he worked at is called 15 North. - User:Systolic 14:10, 16 March 2006

At the time that Matt worked there, it was called Alibi's. The name was later changed to 15 North.

Matthew's passing was from natural causes

Did he die from his "hormonal condition known as acromegaly", or was it some other natural cause that made him die at such a young age? JayKeaton 04:31, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Gigantism

It's sad that he died, why was he so tall with a funny face, was there a syndrome? -- ?

If he had gigantism then I can say that people who have that often, though by no means always, have worse health problems then those with most of the forms of dwarfism. I can't entirely explain all of that, I think it's the pituitary problems involved, but many of them die young. Although it should be noted that there are cases of people nearly as tall as Matthew McGrory who did not have gigantism. I'm thinking he did have it though. Really tall people without it rarely die of natural causes that young or have those kinds of features. Also he is placed in the category.--T. Anthony 15:40, 9 December 2005 (UTC)

2013 followup: Couldn't find any published evidence of medical diagnosis of gigantism, though it seems logical. At death, the paramedics stated "probable natural causes", film director Fry suggested gigantism. --Lexein (talk) 23:17, 9 August 2013 (UTC)

Nickname

In re this edit summary, I don't think the nickname "Big Foot" was intentionally "hurtful" in this article. Matthew McGrory was referred to by the nickname "Big Foot" during his appearances (1996-(last appearance?)) on the Howard Stern Radio Show - the Telegraph ref supports that. And that nickname was referred to, but not used, on other talk shows (Oprah) as in, (paraphrase) "I can see why they call you 'Big Foot' on Howard Stern". AFAIK no TV or radio hosts but Howard ever directly called him "Big Foot". I don't know if he appeared on Opie&Anthony or any other "shock" shows. He did have size 29 1/2 feet, and held a Guinness World Record for that fact, so it may not have ever been a "hurtful" nickname. Later bigfooted Wack Packers have been named "II" or "Jr." at least for a while. If we find his first appearance on HS on tape or a transcript, we may learn if he had that nickname prior to that. --Lexein (talk) 22:09, 9 August 2013 (UTC)
