His last words[edit]

The last words of our blessed Boarische Hiasl were: „Dem Menschen ist es gesetzt zu sterben und auch von denen, die mich gerichtet haben, wird in fünfzig Jahren gewiss keiner mehr am Leben sein !” English translation: (translated analogously. Also, sinngemäßig übersetzt.) Man is destined to die; and also those who have condemned me, among whom none shall survive the next fifty years ! "Hiasl"?[edit]

It would be good to explain in the article: does "Hiasl" mean anything as a common noun here? Or is it a nickname?—172.56.19.113 (talk) 06:01, 9 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hiasl is a Bavarian nickname for Matthias (Matthew). Waidmannsheil Tjlynnjr (talk) 04:27, 2 April 2015 (UTC) .[reply]
