Spelling[edit]

Is this really a commonly-accepted spelling in English? Wiktionary only lists medaillon as a German word and médaillon as a French one. Dictionary.com only lists médaillon as a French word meaning a portion of food. Merriam-Webster only lists it as an alternate spelling of medallion, specifically pertaining to the food serving.
