Bey[edit]

@Bes-ART@Ktrimi991 The title Bey was deleted in a fraudolent way by omitting the edit summary. No reason was given whatsoever and no discussion was opened. [1]. Taking one of his signatures, a primary source, probably dating back to the 1920s, is wrong (does not make a point, considering that a lot of sources refer to him as Mehdi Bey Frashëri) and the whole situation is openly dishonest.

I saw that there is consensus on the WikiProject Albania as regards the title of the article. But omitting it in the lead section is just an arbitrary decision, as the link provided above shows. FierakuiVërtet (talk) 15:08, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Fist of all, his native name was Mehdi but his surname was not Frashëri since he was from the Velbelliu family of Frashër. But since Ottomans didnt use the surnames but rather the place of origin to referr to officials he was commonly known as Fraşerli Mehdi Bey which in Albanian form is Mehdi Bej (not Bey) Frashëri. This should included in the Early Life section which needs improvements and better sources. The article focuses on his late life, as political and writer in Albania and he never signed himself as Mehdi Bej since the title was abolished by the Albanian Parliament in 1920s and if I am not wrong he himself was a member of the parliament and present that day. All being said, you can expand the Early Life section and if needed you can also create a Name section. But as it is, the article does not give any context on why he was given the title Bey nor does it have any significant content on his early life. So you either provide sources and improve the article leave it as it is. There is nothing to summarize in lade since nothing about Bey title it is given a context in the article. -- Bes-ARTTalk 15:49, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Numerous sources cite him as "Mehdi Bey Frashëri", therefore this must be reported in the article. If there is someone who must expand the article and provide a reliable source for the title 'Bey' being abolished in the the 1920s it is you. FierakuiVërtet (talk) 16:50, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Bes-ART Besides the Early life section mentions that his father was a Bey. FierakuiVërtet (talk) 16:51, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
