Spelling of Suguman Matibri[edit]

I work at the ABC and we're doing a project to unearth content related to the pacific region, and currently with focus on Papua New Guinea. We're in the process of processing a 1964 video which covers the topic of voter education ahead of the first election. One of the things we see in the video is an example list of candidates on a display board. Suguman Matibri's name though is spelt Sugman. What do we think? Is this Patrol Officer not spelling it correctly or have the two citations for this page (A Trial Separation & Papua New Guinea's House Of Assembly 1964 -1972) got the name wrong in their publications; was the u added because it was more representative of how it was spoken?
