[Untitled][edit]

Hello! I am planning to add some content to this article over the next few weeks. I think this is such an important topic, and I am so glad someone else created an article on it. I would like to add more detailed information in the existing sections, and talk more about the specific treatment within detention centers, the lack of access to medical care, the impacts of family separation, and how prior trauma intersects with this topic. Check out my user page for more information! Akandru (talk) 05:56, 10 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I am planning to start working on these additions in the next few weeks! I plan to also include historical context on immigration detention, alternatives to detention, and information on special populations such as women, children, and LGBTQ+ individuals. I'd love any feedback! Akandru (talk) 02:04, 9 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions for further development[edit]

This article does a great job in outlining the issue of topic and the urgency to address it. The structure of the article is clear, and the sections provide comprehensive summaries that introduce the different mental health outcomes. I would suggest that the mental health outcomes are defined before being used to explain why and how they are being caused. This will just make the topic more approachable and clear for the reader. Adding images and graphs can also help to understand the scale of the problem, as well as adding figures into the discussion. Overall, this is a great start with detailed information and examples. Great job! Ennis Architect (talk) 17:30, 30 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback on contributions[edit]

I think that this article is very well-organized and integrates sources in an effective way. It is also very readable and maintains a neutral POV. I would suggest adding additional information on immigration detention practices in specific countries, especially if a country has been noted for controversial practices. Also, it may be beneficial to add an intro paragraph to the section on mental health outcomes to provide some additional context. Great job! Bgreaves18 (talk) 18:20, 30 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
