Comparative prices[edit]

A passage on the 300s series M-B costing "$3,925" (without a year cited) and therefore being "significantly more expensive then the regular W186 cars" was excised as misleading. Without a date or comparative price for the 300 (300b, or 300c) W186 model that $3,925 price would have corresponded to the dollar figure is without context and inherently misleading over time. In contrast, a 1958 300d (the somewhat altered linear successor of the 1957 W186 300c) cost $15,122.92 (at the rate of $2.80.00/pound.^[1]^[2] The comparable Rolls-Royce of the day, the Silver Cloud, cost $15,943.20 (same sources).

There is no question the 300S/300Sc were more expensive than the 300 saloons. When properly cited apples-to-apples price comparisons are unearthed they would be welcome additions. Wikiuser100 (talk) 19:53, 21 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Break-up the article[edit]
