Freddy’s ACE

Freddy’s ACE is currently 76.7. It is forecasted to be 91.7 by the end of the 5 day period. Use this website it is much more accurate than Colorado State University. https://www.dapiya.top/satellite/floater/

There are a few factors of ACE calculation that Colorado State University leaves out. EF5Boi (talk) 02:00, 8 March 2023 (UTC)

Unofficial record

Freddy's record stands as unofficial, until the WMO confirms it. The question might stem in its longevity, as the system fell below Tropical depression status, until it re-emerged in the Mozambique Channel. Of course, storms have gone through the dissipation and re-emergence phase before, such as Hurricane Ivan. KyuuA4 (Talk:キュウ) 00:01, 10 March 2023 (UTC)

Should we remove the record until the WMO confirms it? since the WMO said. "The WMO Weather and Climate Extremes Archive are currently assembling a blue-ribbon international committee of scientists. Once the tropical cyclone has dissipated, these experts will begin a detailed examination of the raw data to determine if Freddy has indeed established a record as the longest-duration tropical cyclone on record.  One question that we will be addressing is the fact that throughout its long lifetime, the storm has periodically weakened below tropical storm status.  We will obviously need to address if that is a concern in our evaluation," said Prof. Randall Cerveny, WMO Weather and Climate Extremes rapporteur. Ioke ACE count is higher than 82.0 there was reanalysis.

The actual ACE of Ioke is 85.3 after reanalysis was done on the system. 2601:247:C500:43E0:E8B1:92F9:1076:8331 (talk) 05:59, 12 March 2023 (UTC)

Cơn bão hiện tại ước tính đã di chuyển gần 12000 km ở trạng thái xoáy thuận nhiệt đới và khoảng 12500 km tính cả tàn tích luẩn quẩn trên đất liền Mozambich trước khi quay lại eo biển. Vệ Thần - Talk 20:46, 11 March 2023 (UTC)

Freddy

Pretty sure Freddy has been a live for 5 weeks and 2 days. 2601:247:C500:43E0:38EB:DB7B:9782:E59B (talk) 04:54, 13 March 2023 (UTC)

"Second landfall (and first landfall overall)" ?

This comes up a few times in the article, and the language just seems confusing and unnecessary. A second landfall cannot be its "first landfall overall" for obvious reasons – if for some reason we want to make the distinction that there were two Mozambique landfalls, simply mention that when introducing the third landfall. People have changed it a few times but it keeps getting reverted, I would change it myself but I don't want to start an edit war so I think we should reach a consensus here first. Ww2900 (talk) 16:50, 14 March 2023 (UTC)

I went ahead and changed it, if anyone wants to change it back please discuss here before doing so because I don't see a reason to include it Ww2900 (talk) 01:02, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
