Hi. I will begin this review shortly. As it's my first so I'll be assisted by an experienced Wikipedian. I hope that's okay. --Seabuckthorn  03:18, 16 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

GA review – see WP:WIAGA for criteria

This biography appears to be in good shape and a promising nominee.

  1. Is it reasonably well written?
    A. Prose is "clear and concise", without copyvios, or spelling and grammar errors:
I think the article is ok and as far as I have checked up till now no problems with 1a.
    B. MoS compliance for lead, layout, words to watch, fiction, and lists:
    See below (Fixed).
  2. Is it factually accurate and verifiable?
    A. Has an appropriate reference section:
    B. Citation to reliable sources where necessary:
    C. No original research:
    Appears ok to me.
  3. Is it broad in its coverage?
    A. Major aspects:
In fact I must commend the nominator for organizing the meagre information that is available.
    B. Focused:
  4. Is it neutral?
    Fair representation without bias:
    appears fine to me
  5. Is it stable?
    No edit wars, etc:
(Who would dare to war with a wrestler Mr. Novo? ).
  6. Does it contain images to illustrate the topic?
    A. Images are tagged with their copyright status, and valid fair use rationales are provided for non-free content:
    B. Images are provided if possible and are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions:
No images are available so we can't stress.
  7. Overall:
    Pass or Fail:
    Pass.

Issues with 1b: (Fixed)

  • The lead needs to be expanded a bit, to adequately summarize all the sections of the article, incorporating some more information from the "Career" and "Personal" sections.
  • Also, the first line of the lead mentions him as the president of Fortress but the actual designation by the company's website is that of the Principal and Director here which is in fact mentioned in the Career section as Before assuming his current roles at Fortress as Principal and Director.
  • The next issue may be with the sentence - He served in the U.S. Army National Guard after college. US Army National Guard may not be so intuitive and clear to non-US citizens. The company's website again mentions it as served as a helicopter pilot in the US Army, which comes in the first line of the Career section as After a stint in the New Jersey National Guard that included service as a helicopter pilot. Now the only doubt in my mind is whether his service as a pilot was just a part of his overall service in the US Army National Guard.
  • One more issue appears to me is again with the first sentence is the president of investment firm Fortress Investment Group. Shouldn't this statement also incorporate the date like as of to show how current this information is?
  • Finally, link to New Jersey National Guard and Chief Information Officer as well. --Seabuckthorn  13:58, 19 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

OK, everything looks good now. Passing the article to GA status. --Seabuckthorn  02:48, 20 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Comment. The lede of the article currently includes sentence ""He is an advocate for the sport on the global stage." What sport? Currently there is no context provided, at all. I am guessing something must have been deleted, rendering this sentence nonsensical, for the moment. --doncram 20:43, 30 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • This review has been completed. You should be commenting on the article talk page. I am now unwatching this page.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 21:23, 30 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • Oh, okay, i am not very familiar with GA reviews and there is no obvious closure of this review, like for closure of AFDs. And I see you edited the article just now to clarify that it is the sport of wrestling, in the lede. Thanks. --doncram 21:54, 30 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
