Alleged "behind the scenes" reason for Scott's dismissal[edit]

I've removed the couple of sentences about Scott being actually dismissed from Apple because of his homosexuality. The lines were sourced, from the Michael Malone book Infinite Loop. However, if you read the book, it's a bizarre allegation. The rest of the book, when it makes some sort of assertion, backs it up with interviews and explains the author's reasoning. The allegation that Scott was dismissed because he was homosexual takes up a couple of paragraphs and just throws it out there, without explaining how that author came to that conclusion. Either it's his personal opinion, or it needs further corroboration, and until we have that, it shouldn't be included in this article. —Cleared as filed. 13:41, 10 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Further to "Black Wednesday"[edit]

One of the reasons why Mike fired those 40 engineers (mostly from the Apple /// project as I recall) was due to the fact that IBM had just announced the Intel 8086-based PC at a time when the Apple /// project was in some pain due to delivery problems related to quality of a certain component (the clock chip). The mood was stressful, and some gesture or change in direction was needed. Mike was asked why the firings, and he responded "IBM has just brought out a competing product. They make more off interest on their petty cash than we take in a year, and these guys are trying to invent a duck quack synthesizer." Mind, discovering the "Quack" system sound on the Mac LC we bought a year or two later was the object of more than a few chortles. (Attribution is first hand, from Kelley Johnston, Apple MIS software development manager at Cupertino in 1981.) Don't know whether this belongs in the main page or not, but I thought it needed to be said (--KJ. Please direct questions to nefariouswheel@gmail.com).

On an unrelated note, if I could offer the opinion of someone who was there, nobody at Apple cared whether anyone was gay or not. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.53.35.32 (talk) 05:38, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Slander at bottom[edit]

Theres some "choice" phrases being posted below the references, don't know how to get rid of them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tpmayne (talkcontribs) 23:47, 13 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What does it taste like?[edit]

The title of this article makes it seem like Michael Scott is a type of apple --Benimation (talk) 11:46, 2 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
