References[edit]

I noticed this page was userfied. Rather than work on writing anything myself, and thus bring up even more accusations of promotion (never minding the fact that I was resorting accurate material deleted by the sockpuppet User:MarkChase), I will share references I find here. I don't know if they will be of use or not.

  • Bizzare Magazine: 2008 Halloween. Not exclusively about Belanger, but she was interviewed for the article. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]
  • Shadow Dancer: Belanger appeared with Don Henrie in the video for the Urn song, Shadow Dancer [6]
  • Night Neighbors FOX News Channel: Hannity's America w/Michelle Belanger & Anshar Seraphim - December 7, 2008. Members Of America's Vampire Subculture Could Be Living Right Under Your Nose [7]. I believe the original can be found here, however my computer seems to lock up with the ad [8]. I found a copy on YouTube at [9]
  • More articles not about Belanger, but citing Belanger as a source or expert:
  • A Vampire's Life? It's Really Draining: Monica Hesse of the Washington Post - November 24, 2008 [10]. Another one not about Belanger, but includes her has a source.
  • Real-Life Vampires: Who Are They?: Ki Mae Heussner of ABCNews.com - October 31, 2008 [11]
  • First rule of 'bite' club: Vampires are people, too: Norma Meyer of Copley News Service - October 19, 2007 [12]
  • Paranormal State: Season 2 episodes "The Messenger" and "The Glove". Season 3 episodes of "Desperate Households", "The Anniversary", "The Drowned" and "The Basement".
  • Nite Bites: Women and Their Vampires; Vampire documentary by Essential Entertainment, directed by Inbal Lessner. Aired on the Women's Entertainment Network, May 2003
  • I am still digging up exact citations for the following in order to verify their creditability:
  • "American Vampires" episode of Monsterquest (History Channel)
  • Reference to Black Veil in the CSI episode "Suckers"
  • Our Weird World, AM 1300 WERE, Cleveland, OH; Hosts Marshall Bell and Paul Resnik; Teleconferenced guest in 1996
  • The Buddy Z Show, AM 1300 WERE, Cleveland, OH Host Buddy Zellner; Appeared on several shows from 1997-1999, including: Female Vampires: Subversive Women from Lilith to Carmilla
  • American Vampires British Documentary by XYTV; November 2000, Cincinnati, OH; Released in the UK in June 2001
  • A&E's Biography Special: Vampires, Oct. 28, 2005
  • The Alan Handelman Show, September 2005
  • There are also number of books and articles Belanger supposedly has been referenced in, but I've not had time to verify them all. Some of the older information I pulled digging around the Wayback Machine from an archive Belanger's Curriculum Vitae [13], which seems to go up to about 2005. There is also a bio at [14]. Admittedly the bio and the Curriculum Vitae are documents created by Belanger, but the various articles and books she claims to have connection with should be able to be independently referenced. I will attempt to go through and dig those references out later.

Basically the Bizzare Magazine, Hannity, and various television appearances demonstrate that Belanger is being consulted in topics related to her writings and the vampire sub community. This should be more than enough to meet the cited criteria.--SiIIyLiIIyPiIIy (talk) 21:41, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed Deletion Discussion[edit]

Does this article even quality for WP:Prod? Reading over the criteria I found:

Articles that:
  • Have previously been proposed for deletion using the {{prod}} process.
  • Have previously been undeleted
  • Have been discussed at AfD
are not candidates for {{prod}}.[15]

The most recent Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Michelle Belanger (2nd nomination), which was closed less than a week ago, resulted the article being kept because no consensus was reached. Additionally, the article was recently undeleted. Therefore the, based on my understanding of what I am reading with the WP:Prod requirements, this article does not qualify for the {{prod}} tag on two counts.

Additionally, the user who placed the {{prod}} only notified the article's original, creator, and not the editors more recently and heavily involved with the article.

To this editor, this {{prod}} feels like a disingenuous attempt at skirting another AfD discussion.

I am therefore removing the {{dated prod}} tag and adding {{Old prod full}} to the top of this page as per Contesting a proposed deletion:Before deletion.--SiIIyLiIIyPiIIy (talk) 23:08, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It looks a lot better than even a week ago. I think the placement of the prod tag by LeCrois is pretty lame. Despite the unconfirmed sock check, it seems that LeCrois really has a bee in her bonnet about this person. If someone makes too many prods, especially when an article is being improved, it could be seen as disruptive behavior. Ebonyskye (talk) 08:37, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In case you don't know how to read proper English, I already answered you and referred how the prodding, despite being misplaced, was the idea and advice of the administrator that closed the AfD, and this was confirmed by him in the already provided link that you so try to blindly not see (evidence available in my talk page).
As far as the individual from this article, I have nothing personal against her. In fact, I never heard about her before, simply because she just isn't known outside this promotional Wikipedia article. What I do have against is the usage of Wikipedia project as a platform for free publicity as in this article, especially when it relates to non-notable individuals that have no voice in whatever field and not one single peer-reviewed work, but just a bunch of non-sense texts claiming she is a vampire back from Egypt, which would honestly scare the hell out of any historian. An obvious and blatant hoax.
Now, please stop wasting your own time attacking other editors and bringing up useless SPI's that only prove you wrong, just because those editors disagree with your marketing campaign, especially when you are the one that has been under the light of CheckUser scrutiny and checked out as a sock puppet. Learn to be more open minded and not so easily moved, so instead of that you can try to actually spend your time wisely and doing something productive. Think about it. Article Cleanup[edit]

I just cleaned up 2 sections, Lit and Music. Some of the stuff was redundant, but that's because the album was inserted into this page. Ebonyskye (talk) 09:15, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion to make a list of books. It might look neater than sentence format, and could include a brief synopsis. Can also link to ISBN per the Wiki Book format. I'm just a tiny bit familiar with this and have to research the correct format or template.

I was also wondering since the Blood of Angels album was moved here if we could reinstate the album template so it will continue the Nox Arcana discography. And can we also insert some of the URN releases in a way that won't disrupt their album pages? Ebonyskye (talk) 21:11, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I would not see a problem including the album template in the BoA section. It's been a week since your initial suggestion, and there's been no nay sayers from the people watching the article. I would say this is a case where being bold is certainly appropriate.--SiIIyLiIIyPiIIy (talk) 13:40, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding article presentation. I'm probably not the first to try and fix the odd lack of a space where it says "Blood of Angelsis the 6th album", I thought adding another space would suffice, but it still shows no space on the actual page. It's a minor bug, but maybe someone knows how to fix it.Feyre (talk) 20:42, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

a MTF transgender?[edit]

I don't know if it's true but I've heard a room that Michelle is a Male to Female Transgender, any clarification on that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.29.32.136 (talk) 06:32, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

EDIT: In her interview with PolyWeely, she claims to have been born intersexed. --208.125.152.228 (talk) 05:10, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I believe in her live journal, Belanger has made claims to being a third generation DES child. I'm sort of torn over including this fact in the general article. On the one hand, Belanger's live journal is obviously self-published material. On the other, I feel when it comes to the status of one's genitals and gender, self-published sources should be considered.--SiIIyLiIIyPiIIy (talk) 13:48, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
In the mentioned interview with PolyWeekly, she goes into detail about her condition. While it doesn't mention being a third gen DES child, she does frankly discuss being intersexed at birth. In cases like these, I agree self-published sources should be considered as well.

Would you happen to know the publication date to locate the article?--SiIIyLiIIyPiIIy (talk) 12:57, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's a podcast actually, but the date attached to it is "Fri, 26 Aug 2005" (interview is linked in Michelle Belanger's Wiki article). --208.125.152.228 (talk) 04:38, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merging album page[edit]

I merged the Blood of Angels album page with this author's page. This was done under demand from other admins (either this or deletion), so please don't complain. I used the album template so as to avoid breaking the links between the other 9 albums in the Nox Arcana discography. I only removed one redundant statement (at the end regarding, URN and saying the Belanger is an author) due to it already being established in the upper portion of this article. I also copied over the other refs and ext links that were on the album page, as they all serve as reference and establish notability. Ebonyskye (talk) 05:45, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed today that there's been a bit more activity here. But please don't remove the album template for this article. The album page was merged here by request of admins in earlier discussions on this subject. It is #6 in a discography of 11 albums by Nox Arcana. To remove the album template disrupts the flow of the rest of the discography. Sorry, but it was the only option when someone removed the album page. Thanks.
