I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. Images[edit]

I've worked with Pepso for a couple of years now and very much respect his work and scholarship. I have to say, though, that the Little Big Book image was way too big, and that the comic strip itself should be the lead image of an article about a comic strip. But since the strip iamge that is here doesn't show the title character, the best I can think of for now is to use the comic-book cover, which shows the title character and the breakout character. This isn't a perfect solution, but there's a logic to it. We should find a Mickey Finn strip with Mickey in it. -- Tenebrae (talk) 20:20, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Succession[edit]

I've let this be with respect to COI and reliable sources, but can say with certainty that my "Uncle Lank"'s only assistant and sole successor from at latest the mid 1960s was my father, Morris Weiss. Sometimes my father would bring me to the Leonard's home, where he shared workspace in Lank's large studio. After Lank ailed my father worked on the strip at our house, where his studio was a corner of the family dining room. Sources that report another cartoonist as a late assistant are erroneous. I want to lay this out for discussion before correcting the intro. Many thanks (this public computer won't allow me to sign properly #@*!) JNW.

Lambiek's short biography on Mart Bailey states that he was, sadly, incapacitated after being mugged in the 1960s, which would indicate that any contributions he made to the strip would have preceded this time frame. Perhaps it was a comic book of an earlier era that he took over. JNW
