Untitled[edit]

Hammer was originally intended as a comic book character, which Spillane couldn't get published. (I saw that in a history of Marvel or DC comics, I think...)

I'm guessing that's the new syndicated show. I saw the '80s, titled "Spillane's Hammer"/"New Hammer", & I recall once somebody giving a cabbie his address. Last I saw they were on "A&E"; not anymore? Trekphiler 23:59, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Thegirlhunters.jpg is being used on this article. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

1950's TV Hammer[edit]

Fake "Hammers" of Turkey during 50's[edit]

Starting 1953, book publisher "Çağlayan" published the first six "Mike Hammer" adventures of Mickey Spillane in Turkey. Translations were made by famous Turkish novelist Kemal Tahir. Then Spillane interrupted writing new adventures for a while. But the demand for the new books was enormous in Turkey. As a result appoximately 250 "fake" Mike Hammer books were publishes in Turkey between 1950 and 1960. One of those shadow authors was also Kemal Tahir, under the pen name "F.M.". ‘Kara Nara"(1955) was one of the 250, translates as "Black Nara".

I'm not sure of the organization of this article when an article about a character starts not with a description of the character but a rundown of who played him in film and TV.
