CCHT external link[edit]

This link was added to the article after discussion on the WP Reliable Sources Noticeboard. See: WP:RSN exercise. No information from the CCHT link has been put into the body of the article in the form of citations because it has not yet been verified for 100% accuracy by the Victoria County History project for Cumbria. (This will take some years to do). Laplacemat (talk) 10:53, 1 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Opening heading[edit]

Please note, Appleby is the county town of WESTMORLAND, not Cumberland as stated

Major revision uploaded to bring the page up to Wikiproject for UK Geography standard. My apologies to Nickclube and Ttwaring for overwriting their work but I hope you'll agree there was a lot more to say about Milburn. Crossview (talk) 09:41, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No consensus to move. Vegaswikian (talk) 07:29, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Milburn, CumbriaMilburnSearch for Milburn, look at the amount of content in this article compared to the others (Milburn, Cumbria is 28 KB), the other articles have a lot less than that. Crouch, Swale talk to me My contribs 19:51, 30 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. Clearly not the primary topic per page view counts (see below)... the amount of content is not a factor to consider in determining primary topic! However, I would support a move of the band to Milburn, per the page view count results below. --Born2cycle (talk) 22:48, 30 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Uses of Milburn - page view counts[edit]

Consider the definition of WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for a given term:

one of these topics [to which the term refers] is highly likely – much more likely than any other, and more likely than all the others combined – to be the subject being sought when a reader enters that term in the Search box

These are the page view counts for October 2010 for each of the uses of "Milburn" currently linked at Milburn (disambiguation), in order of fewest to most views.

Ignoring the actor because it's his first name which is highly unlikely to be used for a search for him (he does not show up in the google results when searching for "Milburn"), there is strong basis here to make the band be the primary topic, especially considering it's also the top result in a google search. But the village in Cumbria? No way. --Born2cycle (talk) 22:48, 30 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
