I copied the material I submitted to wiki on the History of Nova Scotia page, which amounts to a basic outline of the military history. On this site I will develop this history in greater detail using the much the same outline.--Hantsheroes (talk) 23:06, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Understood; however, per Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia as referred to in CorenSearchBot's notification and Wikipedia:Splitting, our licensing requires that attribution be given to the original author(s). I have done so with the template above, which must be retained on the talk pages of both articles. That should be all we need. Thanks! — madman 16:33, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Military history of Nova Scotia[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Military history of Nova Scotia's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "Faragher, John Mack 2005. pp. 110":

  • From Expulsion of the Acadians: Faragher, John Mack, A Great and Noble Scheme, New York; W. W. Norton & Company, 2005. pp. 110–112 ISBN 0-393-05135-8
  • From Bay of Fundy: Faragher, John Mack, A Great and Noble Scheme New York; W. W. Norton & Company, 2005. pp. 110–112 ISBN 0-393-05135-8

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 03:51, 24 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Seven Years War (Proper terminology) vs. French and Indian War (incorrect)[edit]

I recently changed the references to "French and Indian" War to the "Seven Years'" War. This is the proper Canadian nomenclature (used, for example, by the Canadian War Museum - which I would deem about as official as it gets) to describe this war, and the "Military History of Nova Scotia" is without question a subset of Canadian History. "French and Indian" is an American term.

To the person who undid my change, that some of the actions occurred 2 years prior to the full outbreak of war in Europe is irrelevant. These were regional flareups that, although occurring prior to the official declaration of war, are indeed part of this global war.

I would kindly ask that my changes be reverted to reflect the proper accepted terminology: the Seven Years' War (La Guerre des sept ans). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zapallon (talkcontribs) 18:31, 20 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
