rename?[edit]

If this article is renamed, what ought the name be? Collect (talk) 21:47, 8 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • I definitely agree with that (I'm surprised that most US states don't already have an article like this.) However, rather than moving this article over there, may I suggest starting it from scratch? The new article we want would cover much more and would certainly be best under a different format and style. Of course, we should wait until the AfD ends regardless.--Yaksar (let's chat) 23:14, 8 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Expansion would take care of any real issues you might have with the article. Collect (talk) 23:45, 8 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that if this page is going to include battles that did not actualy occour in Vermont it cannot be called Battles in Vermont.Slatersteven (talk) 14:11, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Per current lede: Military engagements related to Vermont would be reasonable. I can add a few more examples to be sure.Collect (talk) 14:26, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think history is probably preferable to engagements. That way, we don't have to worry about people, myself probably included :), of objecting to material that technically doesn't conform to an actual engagement in Vermont. A fort, base, or supply line being related to Vermont could be discussed in the history article without any objection.--Yaksar (let's chat) 00:39, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Bit vague really.Slatersteven (talk) 15:12, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Rename to Military history of Vermont. I didn't think there would be any complaint about that. Do it now, or do it later, the result is the same. The article has mostly people saying "Keep" in it, so it won't be deleted. Dream Focus 15:18, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • To Yaksar's statement above, its always best to work with what you have, than to try to delete something and hope someone eventually goes over there and remakes it to your high standards. Dream Focus 15:18, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ethan Allen[edit]

How can an account of the military history of Vermont omit all mention of Vermont's most famous military leader, Ethan Allen? 2601:2:4D00:D47A:B42C:7A19:DF67:5856 (talk) 06:45, 1 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
