The song must be about F.S. Oliver, a loyal ally to the Empire and its cause. Most important, who is Elvis Costello? A diehard Empire man!

Very funny. It refers to Oliver Cromwell, who is - rightly or wrongly - demonised in Irish national mythology. As with all the greatest songs (and opera), the cracking good tune is far more important than the inanity of the lyrics.Paulturtle (talk) 01:29, 22 February 2023 (UTC)

Met With The King

I've removed, for the time being, a claim that Milner "met with the King" before his trip to South Africa in the late 1890s.
