I'm wondering if this might be better organized by team: have a section heading for each team, with the full roster template, then sub-sections with individual players. Granted, that means more work when the inevitable roster moves take place ;). Mackensen (talk) 14:38, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds reasonable to me. —Wknight94 (talk) 14:55, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm going to play with this in my userspace (User:Mackensen/Detroit Tigers minor league players) and see what it looks like. I'm trying to wrap my head around how a reader would approach the article--whether they might look for players first, and not finding what they want, consult the roster at bottom...--Mackensen (talk) 19:06, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think if I were trying to read through the article, I would find the templates to be a distraction. Listing the players alphabetically first, then having rosters at the bottom seems more logical. Maybe that's just me. -NatureBoyMD (talk) 20:28, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
On further reflection I think you're right, and I've refactored the Tigers' page accordingly. Mackensen (talk) 21:16, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have created Former Milwaukee Brewers minor league players, for the details of players who have left the system.

Thats a bad idea.. Are you going to do that for all the MLB teams or just the Brewers? Do you have any idea how many players would theoretically be included in such a listing? And many players play with multiple organizations, how do you determine which page to place them on? Of the three guys you added... Justis spent far more time in the Dodgers farm system, Holliman was with the Cubs system for four seasons and the Red Sox for two but the Brewers for only one and Sandoval was with several organizations in addition to the brewers with the longest stint being with the Mariners... It really doesnt work well like this. You could do a Retired minor league baseball players article to include all of them... but that could be huge and probably not a good idea. That would probably be a better way forward for the details. The size of the list is not an issue, we already have alphabetical lists that are split over many pages. Individual teams would have a page such as Nashville Sounds all-time roster. All the best: Rich Farmbrough14:05, 26 November 2014 (UTC).
This strikes me as a disaster of WP:NOTDIR proportions. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:08, 21 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yeah no this is ridiculous. Exactly what Spanneraol said. Bad idea.--Yankees10 17:10, 21 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
