inaccurate information[edit]

Ok, first time doing this. Reading the article, I noticed the statement regarding the river's depth. The average depth of the river can't be 3.5 to 5.0 miles. Perhaps the author misinterpreted data regarding the "Milwaukee deep", which is located in the Puerto Rico Trench on the border of the Carribbean and the Atlantic and may be that deep. I'm not from Milwaukee, but I seriously doubt that the river is that deep. In fact, the deepest river in the world is the Congo River at around 750 feet deep. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.21.95.2 (talk) 18:45, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bridges[edit]

I added a first-cut Bridges section following the model of the Chicago River article. Years should be added, the list of bridges should be completed, and formatting and other models (separate article, etc.) may be worth considering. A reference to the Milwaukee Bridge War may be appropriate. Edurant 00:51, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Watershed size[edit]

I couldn't help noticing that "The Milwaukee River watershed drains over 900 square miles", but "The Milwaukee River watershed covers 830 square miles". Since a watershed (in North American usage) is the area drained by the river, these two statements cannot both be correct. Would someone who can site an authoritative source please correct this. History[edit]

Changed the hyperlink to point to the Mississippe River from Mississippi state. I think this is what it should be. It would be great if someone could double check this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.101.169.207 (talk) 20:04, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
