Too much trivia[edit]

I can tell that a lot of work has gone into this article, and that there are many interesting local stories in Minden.  :) However, I don't think that Wikipedia is the right place for a lot of this information. I think that our readers would be better served by a summary article of Minden and its history, plus links to other articles about notable residents. As for the rest of the information, it would be more appropriate on the Minden website, and then we can link to there from here. I mean no disrespect to the veterans listed here, nor to their families. But I just don't think it's a good idea to list every single one of them on this article, unless we can point to a non-Minden source that shows that their association with the town was notable. I just looked at this article today and observed:
  • 1)- A good job was done on the layout and presentation.
  • 2)- There is certainly a lot of "home-town" information.
  • 3)- No one replied to the editor above and the observation is correct.
If no one steps up I will look at the article at a later date to see if I can improve it. I am going to remove the ancient reference tag as there was nothing to go with it on this page. Unreferenced material can be challenged and/or removed but when an editor blanket tags an article, with no reasoning or explanation, this does not help the article not Wikipedia.
