Is this an actual name for the car?

File:MiniBrochure2012.JPG
Mini Hatch brochure from spring 2012 (UK issue)

Up until seeing this article today, I have never in my life heard this vehicle referred to as a Mini Hatch. Is this an actual name for the vehicle? Do people actually call it this? Or is it just a way to avoid calling it the BMW Mini or the post-Rover Mini? Sincerely, SamBlob (talk) 19:51, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

I have also never heard this name used, and I live in Oxford and socialise with many people who actually build the thing. However, on googling it does appear that the name is used by some people in the motor trade, so maybe it's a marketing thing. Around here everybody calls it either a 'Mini' or 'BMW Mini'. --Ef80 (talk) 19:26, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
Mini Hatch is indeed what Mini call the car. See their brochures and websites! Or Mini Hardtop in the US. Warren (talk) 12:57, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
This is not correct. The "hatch" is just one of the availble models. Check the website [1] and that is pretty clear. The article should be named just "Mini" with the hatch being the name of one of the models. If this article only covers the hatch version, then the convertible needs to get its own article as it is a different model. Bigar (talk) 17:08, 14 September 2013 (UTC)
I totally agree with everything written here by Bigar (talk).
If the article were to be retitled "Mini" that would seem the simple solution but that does present problems, not least in differentiating from the original BMC car. Of course we already have Mini (marque) but I suggest that Mini (BMW) is more meaningful. Cheers!

Mini Hatch is a ridiculous name for the article. I agree with Gareth that Mini (BMW) is a good name except it should be MINI (BMW) as the company always uses capitals for the name. Malcolma (talk) 14:56, 19 October 2013 (UTC)

Controversial move needs to be discussed

Today's page moves have been undone per WP:BRD. If the original contributor, or anyone else thinks that articles like this and Mini need to be renamed then the move needs to be properly discussed. --Biker Biker (talk) 22:44, 16 August 2012 (UTC)

The F54 Cabriolet has been out for 7 months now, and there is still no information regarding it here. Please update this page with the necessary details. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 112.198.99.65 (talk)12:02, 5 October 2016 (UTC)

It's a lot of work to collect each of the citations for this, so I'm just adding a note here. Mini Coopers were on the top 10 lists for best resale value or lowest depreciation on most every year starting around 2004 through 2011 or so, at Kelly Blue Book, Edmunds, and other sources, including Consumer Reports. CR even noted, in 2006, the irony between their large number of consumer complaints for defects and the paradoxical high resale value.[2] Other links: [3][4][5][6][7][8].

Car and Driver mentioned that niche models tend to hold their value more than high volume cars[9]. The same article rates the Fiat 500 poorly for resale value, even though the Mini's volumes are around 10 times higher, contradicting this theory. *shrug* We should probably just write about the data and not try to figure out what it means. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 03:28, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
