This article is a mess.

It conflates Zoom Technologies and Zoom Telephonics, which split from each other in 2009. The original company was called Zoom Technologies, but that name went with the ticker symbol and a fraction of the product lines of the company to the new China-based Zoom, while the core of the original Zoom became the Boston-based Zoom Telephonics. The SEC filing links after that are labeled as Zoom Telephonics, but actually link to the pre-split Zoom Technologies and the post-split Zoom Technologies. The problem is conflated by the fact that other reference sources (e.g. Reuters) share the same confusion.
