Edit re Glasgow[edit]

Why was the sentence 'The Royal Ballet did not stage the work when touring to Glasgow in 1945' changed to 'Scotland'? What reference is there for this comment? Thanks. Cg2p0B0u8m (talk) 22:23, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I did not make the change, but:
  1. as Glasgow is in Scotland it is not an error to use the latter;
  2. the person who made the change may be aware of 1945 engagements in Scotland other than Glasgow.
But Scotland is not my bailiwick.— Robert Greer (talk) 12:54, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. For (1) if it was done somewhere in Scotland it is wrong - the Haskell I originally based this on was making the point that although the ballet is set in Glasgow, people there would have to go to Edinburgh to see it: "I feel that the lack of courage shown during this visit of the Wells to the city in 1945 was lamentable." (he continues at some length!). So I will re-edit. Cg2p0B0u8m (talk) 22:29, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
