punjabi?[edit]

I'm not Punjabi, but I know enough about the language to know that that sure as hell isn't Punjabi... it's more like Urdu. I won't remove it 'til the actual translation comes through. riana_dzastatceER • 16:49, 6 July 2006(UTC)

This Is Nastaleeq Script[edit]

How would you feel If say that the language you write as urdu is not urdu but its arabic or persian.

Rewrite[edit]

THis article is a piece of crap. RAmble Ramble Ramble

Perso-Arabic script[edit]

The script derived from arabic and persian after adding some local indian phonems is called perso arabic script.

Who used the script 1st time[edit]

Urdu is known to be coming into being after the mughal invasion, and according to my knowledge ameer khusro was the first urdu poet, in some 15th century AD.

The first known Punjabi poet whose kalam has been found in Nastaleeq Perso Arabic script was Baba Farid and even his kalam then was added to Shri Guru Granth Sahib. The date of death of Baba Farid is 1293 AD.

Before this the punjabi was written in Lnda script.

Who must claim ownership for this script[edit]

So now we have to decide who is the rightful owner of this script the stealers or the real owners. Abulfazl 08:50, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Two versions of story?[edit]

I think the poster of the article has forgot to celan up the earlier version, which is still available after the interlude on Punjabi customs... and of course, the discussion of Sassi Punnoon seems a bit out of place...

IMHO, these could be edited out. Since I'm no authority on the subject, I think someone else (esp from Punjab) should do it...
