Recent edits

Much of the referencing from my recent edit comes from local papers, I believe this is more to do with these being the only papers available through the free Wikipedia subscription to Newspapers.com moreso than any indication of the level of coverage at the time. Also, I have removed the reference to Mary McBride being "disqualified the next day" and Janet Stafford taking over; I don't know when this edit was made or where the information came from but nothing I have found supports this. I have references for McBride competing at the Miss USA pageant and for crowning her successor. --- PageantUpdater (talk) 03:00, 9 June 2017 (UTC)
