Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... he was a member of the Legislative Council of Madras? He was other things, too, but that alone renders the subject presumptively notable under WP:Politician. In what sense is notability unclear? Would you mind clarifying, nom?
