Sources[edit]

IP user, discuss why you believe the sources should be removed from the career section of the article. If you remove them on the grounds that they are unreliable sources than you would delete the citation from the entire article, not just one section in the article. As far as I can tell, those sources are not being used in a controversial way and are providing context to the career of Mockbul Ali. The sources may have a bias but I see no indication that they are intentionally inaccurate. We can't remove sources on the grounds "that it could be incorrect and libelous". Just because it 'could' be something does not mean that it is. In fact, one of the links is dead entirely which leads me to believe the sources were not actually looked at. The other link is to a book on Google, which unless proven otherwise, seems totally relevant and valid. DeniedClub❯❯❯ talk? 19:28, 21 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of Content -- allegedly xenophobic sources[edit]

Let us please discuss (per WP:BRD) these proposed removals of content [1], [2], [3], [4] by Special:Contributions/89.148.27.220.

The edit summaries say:

  • Sources which clearly had no evidence base for assertions made were removed and at least one reference had a clearly xenophobic title and another came from a hate website. Sources and information kept are from verified and objective source
  • Removed potentially xenophobic information assumed because individual is an ethnic minority (I.e. according them ‘Bengali’ as their language without any evidence
  • Fixed previous sources which were unverified and potentially highly biased. Also potential xenophobic text amended- I.e. the individual is clearly British, but was accorded an “native” name in Bengali

I would like to hear more about specific sources and allegedly homophobic sources. Can we discuss one sentence or line at a time rather than one big removal of content? --David Tornheim (talk) 20:35, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
