Recent changes[edit]

@DayakSibiriak: As far as I can see, you did not discuss your recent changes anywhere before implementing them, that is turning this page into a disambiguation page instead of a redirect. As far as I can see, Mongols is a clear primary topic for the term "Mongol" and having the disambiguation page at Mongols (disambiguation), with a hatnote at Mongols pointing there, is the best construction. It is also the long-term stable status quo, and changing this is too disruptive to be done without wider discussion, see for example the almost 1000 pages that link to Mongol. If you insist on your changes I suggest nominating Mongol at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion, which is the appropriate venue for this. Lennart97 (talk) 11:17, 26 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I do, please change the page status. The term Mongol, already based on linguistics, is more fundamental for all "Mongolic" concepts. DayakSibiriak (talk) 11:36, 26 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Then please follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion#How to list a redirect for discussion and make your case there. Lennart97 (talk) 12:00, 26 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thinking again, I did not dare to be a nominator for discussion myself, without relevant experience. DayakSibiriak (talk) 04:25, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
That's up to you, of course. You could also bring it up for an informal discussion first, for example at Talk:Mongols or some other place where interested people will see it and be able to discuss. Lennart97 (talk) 12:18, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
