Note[edit]

Hi Beckstellez! - Your rough draft of your article looks pretty solid right now. All your info in the article is relevant to the topic of Monica Garza and I'm not getting distracted. The information you provided in your article are not subjective and highly objective. I did not come across anything bias. - Your viewpoints on each of the subheadings are pretty sufficient, but I feel like you can add more of her artworks if Garza has any. Are there any pictures that you can provide in the article like a picture of Monica Garza or her art works? - Your bibliography is well cited with all the sources that you used in your article. All of the external links work and direct me to the designated site except for the first link (Monica Garza's Website). All your sources reflects the information that is presented in your article. - I remember the professor saying to stray away from using primary sources for your article. Using Monica Garza's personal website for her biography and life should be fine. However, using her website for citing information regarding her art work will run into some problems if there is personal bias. [1] Also, the websites you cited from are pretty solid for your claims. The websites you cited from have pretty solid information, but these blog style websites are often biased. For example in your 2nd cited article, the author states "What I love most about Garza’s body of work is that she has created a world, a new dimension where women like me can lounge, eat, exercise, ride bikes, dance, and eat tacos with no clothes on, enjoying the sun and our own bodies without harassment, abuse, shame, or the threat of violence." The author of the article is making the source subjective and less reliable because the author is inputting her opinion and praise for Monica Garza. In order to combat this, maybe try utilizing a scholarly article or a Latin American artist encyclopedia for your sources through the UCR library data base? It will be purely objective filled with reliable facts. - Your information is not out of date and pretty updated. However, you are missing the Awards and Honors subheading unless you could not find any information. In addition were there any publications that Monica Garza had? Also, where is your References subheading? Note that putting Monica Garza's personal website under your References heading will be put into the draft space! Aside from that, you included all the citations, dates, and location for the artworks, collections, and exhibition inclusions. Great job!
