Contested deletion[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... (I am the new Italian reviewer for the Wine Advocate) --MonicaLarner (talk) 19:24, 2 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Because it is true. I am the new Italian Reviewer for the Wine Advocate.

@User:MonicaLarner. I decided not to delete the article. Instead, I redirected it to The Wine Advocate (so if anyone searches for "Monica Larner" they will be taken to the article for The Wine Advocate). Keep in mind that no one was disputing the truth of the article. However, notability is a requirement to have an article, and that notability needs to be supported by reliable sources. Your article bascially had one sentence that stated you are an American wine critic and a reviewier for The Wine Advocate, and then a quote from the publisher of the The Wine Advocate saying how great you are (which is not independent). Therefore, at this time, a stand-alone article was not justified.
Also, please read through WP:Autobiography to see why creating an article about yourself is generally not a great idea... Singularity42 (talk) 23:34, 2 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
