Public/political reaction/input[edit]

Generally appears Ocean County is advocating very hard for construction, and along with Monmouth, prefers the Monmouth Junction alignment (whose numbers indicate highest ridership0, whereas Middlesex is NIMBY.

Reactions to the project have been mixed. Some Ocean County residents have advocated for the project.[9] while others have asked for U.S. Route 9 to be widened.[10] Resistance was greatest in Middlesex County.[11]
