Monster Truck Madness 64 should NOT be merged with this wiki article.

Monster Truck Madness 1 and Monster Truck Madness 2 are related games. Monster Truck Madness 64 is not. It has nothing to do with the first, it was not developed by the same company and was not commissioned by microsoft. It's played on a game console, not on a PC. While there are similarities in the titles the three games have nothing in common. They do not belong on the same page and should receive completely separate treatment.

However, I will acknowledge that because each game deals with the subject of monster trucks then it would be understandable if a link to each was included in the other's 'related' links area.

Note. If Monster Truck Madness 64 was to be merged with mtm1 and mtm2 then it would follow that you should also merge the two games 4x4 Evolution and 4x4 Evolution 2 with this article as well... since they 'were' developed by the same software company and in fact use the same game engine and can even run some mtm tracks. However, that would be wrong too since the two 4x4 Evolution game titles are not monster truck games, they do not share the same game physics, the publisher was godgames (not microsoft) and in fact the developer was seeking to distance themselves from their earlier work. If the purpose of a wiki is clarity of thought, ideas and understanding, then it is imperative that MTM64 be kept separate and distinct from MTM1 and MTM2 and that Evo1 and Evo2 be kept separate from them as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.8.174.158 (talkcontribs) 06:24, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Monster Truck Madness BoxArt.gif[edit]

Image:Monster Truck Madness BoxArt.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:47, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I have an idea: Look at the "ALT1" I've added! Aya Syameimaru 文々。新聞 02:35, 29 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
That's still a bit on the vague side. Maybe a simple explanation of what kind of accuracy this means? You can refer to the development section for ideas. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 03:00, 29 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I modified it. Just refined the hook, made it more obvious. Aya Syameimaru 文々。新聞 12:26, 29 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It sounds okay, although it's admittedly not a spectacular hook. Would it be a good idea to mention the year of release as well? I don't think accurate simulations were commonplace back then. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 07:26, 1 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Well, yes I agree it's a good idea to put the year of release in the hook. And you know what? I just did it now. Aya Syameimaru 文々。新聞 07:57, 1 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Article meets DYK expansion requirements, length is good, hooks are cited inline and verified. Currently unable to check for close paraphrasing as Earwigs is currently having technical issues. A QPQ was done but not necessary as this is the nominator's first nom. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 01:54, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I think the copyvios are very unlikely. I did check for close paraphrasing with Earwigs, and found basically no rip-offs in my text ever. Aya Syameimaru 文々。新聞 11:07, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I now modified the alternative hook to link to Monster truck. Aya Syameimaru 文々。新聞 17:43, 7 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I think we should be good to go now as Earwigs managed to work and didn't find any close paraphrasing. I'm approving only ALT1. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 00:17, 9 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

March 2020[edit]

Hi there, I'm Aya Syameimaru! I guess this is the first time you're reviewing a Good Article Nomination (GAN). If you read the Reviewing section of the GAN Instructions page, then good luck! I expanded and improved the article frequently for over a month. I'm Aya Syameimaru! I 文々。新聞 06:42, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I wouldn't be surprised if you played Monster Truck Madness. I thought you enjoyed it well. I'm Aya Syameimaru! I 文々。新聞 07:11, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think they are actually reviewing the article. I would suggest speedy delete the GAN and start over. GamerPro64 16:47, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I guess so. I'm Aya Syameimaru! I 文々。新聞 17:18, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I'll start the review here. First, I think the lead may need to be at least two to three paragraphs as per WP:LEADSECTION (so far, it's about 23,905). There was also one citation that's already dead, but it's all fixed up. I'll continue reading the article and assess some of the sections before giving a final rating. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 21:19, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Currently, the lead has two paragraphs. I'm Aya Syameimaru! I 文々。新聞 21:24, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Drive-by comment (appropriately enough): The truck Samson is only mentioned in an image caption. Although it makes sense to only list those of the game's twelve trucks that have Wikipedia articles (which I think is what's being done in "Gameplay"), it might make sense to include the other eight in a footnote. --Usernameunique (talk) 01:28, 31 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting. I'm taking your good idea into consideration. I'm Aya Syameimaru!I文々。新聞Iuserbako 01:45, 31 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, now I implemented your suggestion into the article with this footnote:
Other monster trucks include Bear Foot, Boogey Van, Carolina Crusher, Monster Patrol, Overkill, Power Wheels Bigfoot, Rampage, Samson, and Wildfoot.

I'm Aya Syameimaru!I文々。新聞Iuserbako 01:58, 31 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Looks good, I'm Aya Syameimaru!. As you can see, I've adjusted it slightly in the article. Also, although it's an uncontroversial statement, I would still add a source to the footnote. --Usernameunique (talk) 04:43, 31 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Added a source to the footnote. I'm Aya Syameimaru!I文々。新聞Iuserbako 05:12, 31 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I guess the article takes 9-10 minutes to read, and at this point, with 1180 words, can be reviewed with ease I think. «“I'm Aya Syameimaru!”I„文々。新聞“I„userbako”» 10:31, 8 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

4x4 Evo[edit]

@2nd Ias: Does 4x4 Evo have any relation to this game? If so, I think that it should be more clearly explained. If not, it should probably have mention cut as it appears rather awkward and unrelated. --TheSandDoctor Talk 05:29, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
