G7 batteries[edit]

A big issue i don't see mentioned in article is apparently you can't replace a G7 battery.

motorola.com page for Moto G7 (click on "View all specifications") says "Battery size" "3000 mAh, Non-removable"
motorola.com page for Moto G7 Play (click on "View all specifications") says "Battery size" "3000 mAh, Embedded" (which costco.ca refers to as "built-in")(so sounds like Play battery is probably also Non-removable.)
motorola.com page for Moto G7 Power (click on "View all specifications") says "Battery size" "5000 mAh, Non-removable".
(i don't see a motorola.com page for the Motor G7 Plus)

A big issue in that if the battery dies, presumably you have to buy a new phone (example: my previous cellphone outlasted 2 or 3 cellphone batteries) --EarthFurst (talk) 20:30, 22 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Moto G7 and G7 Plus LineageOS support[edit]

Variants[edit]

This page is outdated. There are more than four variants of the G7 (including the base model). I personally have a G7 Supra. I work at a Walmart. Some of the pre-paid carriers have the G7 Optimo. Security patches have ceased for G7 models[edit]

Mention perhaps of the ceasing of software update support for G7 models. For example, the last security update for the G7 Plus was August 1, 2021, and the phone remains on Android 10. It's probably safe to assume that Motorola will not longer send updates to these models. That would be approximately 2.5 years' support from the manufacturer, which is about as good as it gets for less-expensive Moto models. 96.32.53.89 (talk) 03:00, 17 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
