Moto G (2014 version)Moto G (2nd generation) – per Nexus 7 article, Talk:IPod_Touch_(5th_generation)#Requested_moves, and WP:CONCISE – ViperSnake151  Talk  20:45, 8 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This is a contested technical request (permalink). EdJohnston (talk) 23:54, 8 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: The naming of members of a product series is often disputed, so it's better to have a full discussion and try to get consensus. Compare the five moves in 2014 of IPod Touch (5th generation). I hope the nominator will explain his reference to the Nexus 7. What is the implied precedent there? EdJohnston (talk) 23:54, 8 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • OH wait, I just realized that they also used the same disambiguation pattern as what this article uses currently. But the Moto X article uses Generation instead, and the majority of sources uses "generation" in regards to these. ViperSnake151  Talk  00:28, 9 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Nexus 7 is disambiguated as Nexus 7 (2012 version) and Nexus 7 (2013 version), whereas the iPod Touch articles use nth generation. It's a question of whether we want to consistently name the Moto X and Moto G articles as Moto X (2014 version) and Moto G (2014 version) or Moto X (2nd generation) and Moto G (2nd generation). --Article editor (talk) 15:35, 9 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • In both of those cases, the manufacturer specifically used "Nth generation" or the year to refer to those. Motorola has made no such distinction. ViperSnake151  Talk  15:39, 9 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Support. Per the above, use 2nd generation. Frmorrison (talk) 16:55, 15 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Advantages over the predecessor[edit]

For that section, I would like to convert to table format (e.g. iPhone model comparison) for clearer look. Any yes/no?Wasill37 (talk) 03:52, 4 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Motorola Logo as main picture[edit]

Why is there a picture showing the Motorola logo on the page? I believe that a picture of the mobile unit would be a much better option.--124.253.54.105 (talk) 14:27, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I agree - I'll check if I can find a picture on commons - otherwise I ll take one myself ... --ChristopheT (talk) 12:08, 28 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
added - not sure about the size - maybe s.o. with more experience should have a look at the info-box and see if that is how it s being done ... --ChristopheT (talk) 12:39, 28 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I've replaced this with an extra-humungo-ginormous image, but it was good of you to take the trouble to photograph your phone - some people would have just moaned without doing anything. -Ashley Pomeroy (talk) 21:45, 21 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
